David Shirk specializes in state and federal compliance and operational
process and reviews at LotsteinLegal.
Prior to joining
LotsteinLegal, David spent 22 years in the mortgage industry serving, for
various mortgage lenders, as CEO, COO, CIO and Chief Compliance Officer.
He also spent time as Senior Vice President at Countrywide serving as
functional architect for their next generation loan origination system. As
Senior Product Manager of Enterprise Lending Systems, at Framework Inc.,
David was involved in the detailed review and refinement of two top 10
lenders' end-to-end loan fulfillment workflows.
David is a past
member of the Federal Reserve Board's Consumer Advisory Council,
participated in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's (CFPB)
roundtable discussions on mortgage disclosures and participated in HUD's
Negotiated Rulemaking proceedings on yield spread premiums.
Mr.
Shirk was twice honored as columnist of the year by National Mortgage
Broker magazine for his column on regulatory compliance topics and is a
former National Mortgage Broker of the Year. He founded the Oregon
Association of Mortgage Professionals and has participated on the NAMB and
MBA regulatory compliance committees for many years.
David is a
frequent speaker at industry conferences and is recognized for his
practical experience combined with in depth compliance background and
technical knowledge. David is known for his attention to detail and has
designed and tested the logic in production software.
David holds
an MBA from Corban University in Salem, Oregon.
