Martha Turner practices in the firm’s litigation practice and leads the appellate practice group. She defends servicing litigation claims involving wrongful foreclosure, HAMP modification, and wrongful eviction. Her clients include lenders, loan servicers, financial institutions, community banks and other creditors. She regularly defends actions involving origination claims and violations of federal and state laws, including TILA, RESPA, HOEPA, ECOA, FCRA, FDCPA, HMDA, along with state law claims involving alleged violations of GAFLA, GRMA, deceptive trade practices, mortgage fraud and the like. Martha is experienced with resolving title insurance claims and represented title companies in title insurance litigation and providing coverage opinions. Martha also defends claims involving mandatory arbitration claims, violations of consumer protection statutes and other violations for consumer finance companies, auto lenders, credit card companies and auto finance. Throughout her career, Martha has managed cases through the appellate process in state and federal courts.

Upon graduation from law school, she began her practice with the law firm of Gorby, Reeves, Moraitakis & Whiteman, P.C. (now Gorby, Peters, & Associates PC) where she practiced insurance defense litigation. Martha then joined the law firm of Moraitakis, Kushel, Pearson & Gardner in Atlanta. Martha and her husband David, a litigation lawyer, live in Peachtree Corners with their three children.

Martha graduated form Mount Holyoke College, with a B.A. in Biology and a minor in Philosophy. She earned her J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law, graduating Cum Laude.

Martha is admitted to practice in Georgia.
