Licensing
Whether you are entering the mortgage banking industry or expanding into new regions, we can handle your licensing needs. We have a full-time licensing staff that manages all of our licensing projects, from nationwide licensing campaigns to regional initiatives.
We have developed a systematic management framework. First, we maintain current licensing applications for every jurisdiction. Second, we maintain a listing of all the requirements for each license. This allows us to respond quickly, to tell you what you will need for approval, and to manage your licensing projects. Following submission, we track each license application until it is approved and keep you informed of its status. Once approved, we can calendar and manage your license renewals. Our licensing staff can get you either licensed in new states or authorized to expand your operations.
We handle all types of licensing matters, including:
- Lending, brokering, purchasing and servicing
- First and subordinate lien residential mortgage loans
- Closed-end and open-end transactions
- Conforming and subprime loans
- Federal and quasi-federal approvals, including HUD/FHA, VA, FannieMae, FreddieMac, GinnieMae, and FmHA
- Changes of control
- Trade name licensing
- Branch and cross-branch licensing
- Exemption reviews
- Renewal and annual report management
- Regulatory agency and secretary of state audits to determine whether licensee maintains proper licensing and whether licensee remains in good standing
As a component of our licensing efforts, we handle corporate and organizational matters for corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships. These matters include:
- Incorporation or organization
- Drafting bylaws
- Qualification to do business in foreign jurisdictions
- Qualification renewals and annual reports
- Trade name registration, with both state and local agencies, and renewals
